Junho Yu

Senior Fundraising Lead

Junho leads fundraising at Lion Landscapes, working with foundations, philanthropists, institutional and individual donors, and other partners to fund the organisation's work. His job is to make sure the teams doing the work on the ground have what they need, from community liaison teams and Lion Defenders to fortified livestock enclosures and the conservation incentive programme.

Before joining Lion Landscapes, Junho spent more than 20 years raising income, growing support bases and driving organisational growth for corporate, public and non-profit organisations across the US, UK, Europe and Asia, in a wide range of industries and causes.

Junho holds an advanced degree in business and non-profit management from New York University, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK, and of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in the US.

He came to conservation from the humanitarian and development side, and what keeps him in it is that this work is, in the end, about people: families who lose livestock to carnivores, and villages deciding for themselves what living alongside wildlife should be worth.

Junho is based between Madrid and London, trains Brazilian jiu-jitsu and other martial arts, and can be drawn into a long conversation about art or a good bottle of wine.
