Martin Fuller
Chief Operating Officer
Martin is the Chief Operating Officer of Lion Landscapes, where he oversees the operational backbone of the charity's conservation work across the UK, Kenya and Tanzania. His remit covers operational delivery of programmes, alongside HR and staff engagement, finance and budgeting, IT and systems, health and safety, logistics and procurement, and regulatory compliance across three legal jurisdictions. He also leads on risk management and board reporting, and line manages the senior leadership team, working to ensure that Lion Landscapes' field programmes are backed by the systems, people and governance needed to deliver them safely and sustainably.

A significant part of his current focus is building organisational infrastructure that can scale with the charity's growth, from strengthening financial planning and modelling to navigating the practical realities of managing staff and operations across the varying legal and regulatory frameworks of the UK, Kenya and Tanzania.

Martin came to Lion Landscapes after over two decades in senior operational leadership roles across the commercial and non-profit sectors, most recently as COO of a £70 million business unit at SSS Public Safety, and before that a decade at MicroEnsure, helping scale a financial services non-profit organisation from 500,000 to over 30 million customers across 15 countries, including Kenya and Tanzania.

Martin holds a Master's degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and his scientific training feeds directly into his belief that conservation works best when practical delivery is paired with rigorous evidence. He supports a number of wildlife and conservation charities and his passion for wildlife has been shaped by multiple safaris across East and Southern Africa, including in the Selous. He lives in Cheltenham with his wife and family and in his spare time enjoys hiking, travel and photography.
